We live in the world of Instagram where so many people aren’t honest or authentic in the way they portray themselves. I want you to really ask yourself how often do you show up online as your authentic self? Are you being real with your audience, are you showing them your real life?
The reason I want you to ask yourself these questions is because there is so much power in showing up authentically online. When you show up authentically you become so much more likeable and more relatable. People can’t relate to perfection, that is not real or attainable. People can connect with you on such a deeper level when you are being your authentic self.
I’m sure you’ve seen someone trying to imitate or copy someone else’s content. When you’ve seen that, think back to how it felt. I know when I’ve seen this happen the messaging never comes across as genuine or impactful because it’s not coming from their original thoughts and feelings.
Instead of copying what other people are doing you should focus on creating content that has messaging and information that comes directly from you. Talk about stuff from the heart and speak from your own personal experiences. I understand that it gets enticing to look at what your competitors are doing but when you take things from other people and use it in your content it won’t be authentic to your story.

You have experiences you can draw from! Think about the journey you’ve had that led you to whatever it is your teaching or however you are helping others. Those are the experiences you should be sharing with your audience that will bring the most value to your audience.
Sharing direct experiences you’ve had with your audience will be the reason people resonate with you. This is because it’ll be based on the lessons you’ve learned and the personal devotion you have to your industry.
You can still talk about the same topics your competitors are talking about, but you should be giving it your own personalized spin. Take from what you’ve learned and use that to relate it with your audience. This is the most effective way to attract the right people.
If you can show up with original ideas people are going to feel an instant connection with you. If you have fears or doubts holding you back from being your authentic self ask yourself what is the worst that could happen? When you start showing up as your authentic self that is truly when more people will show up and relate to you. More people will buy from you so don’t be afraid to be polarizing talk about things you truly want to talk about. Even if those things are controversial in your industry. These authentic conversations are what will set you apart from your competition.
Showing up authentically is so important to attract the people you need to attract. You will not make as many sales if you are not being relatable in the online space and aren’t drawing from your own personal experiences. People can not relate to perfection, so there is absolutely no point in trying to portray yourself in that way. You want to be someone who people can connect with and showing up as your genuine self is the best way to do this.
When you show up as your authentic self you will be able to attract the right kind of people.
