When Steve Jobs said, The only way to do great work is to love what you do. If you havent found it yet, keep looking. Dont settle. He was challenging everyone to love what they do. Me included. You included.

But doing what you love is not enough. When you find what you love, challenge yourself to become the best in your field. In addition to passion and dedication, youll need talent, skills, and hard work to become the best.

The simple question is: what do you love to do? You answer it by making a list and elaborating on WHY you love to do these things.

But the ultimate question is, if youre not doing what you love, whats holding you back?

For most people its fear of something known or unknown. These are the prime fear categories:

  • Fear of risk
  • Fear of failure
  • Fear of inadequacy
  • Fear of rejection

Here are 4 Ways to Overcome Your Fears

1. Educate Yourself Be a Sponge. I devour everything I can about sales. I wake up and read. I read before bed. I watch videos on sales, and try to learn new sales strategies continuously. Attend trade shows, conferences, webinars, and take classes. Follow the gurus in your field.

2. Become an Expert Learn something new everyday. Push yourself further than the day before. Finding a course on websites such as CourseHorse.com or enrolling in a course at your local university are perfect ways to stretch your brain. Listening to fellow salespeople and sales managers discuss their challenges allows me to think about creative ways to help. Immerse yourself in your industry.

3. Share Your Passion Got passion? Great. But not everyone gets to be a rockstar, so now you have to figure out a way to monetize doing what you love.

Can you use your passion to educate others? Can you use your passion to impact others? What can you give? Think about what you have to share. Hint: you can share your knowledge, guidance, support, expert tips, results, solutions, and secrets to success.

4. Find Your Finish Line Set Goals. If you dont know where youre going, how will you get there? Figure out what you love and set your goals. Get started. Begin now.

Throughout a successful career, I always had a burning desire to start my own business. Transitioning from a stable job to entrepreneurship is never easy. I was scared. I knew that in order to achieve my dreams, I needed to take a leap outside my comfort zone. Using these four steps, I was able to gather the courage, take the plunge, and now I wake up every day loving what I do.

Whats your dream? Dont be afraidjust go after it! When you do what you love, it no longer feels like working.

Turn your passion into increased sales.
