This was so massively impactful for me that I want to share all about the lessons I learned from it in today’s episode. My First Success Secret: Get Yourself a Coach.
I joined a mastermind with my current coach, Jen Casey. I saw her speak, developed a massive woman crush, and started working with her. She’s totally lived up to my expectations, and she has helped me tremendously in the past year. So my first key success secret for you is to get yourself a coach! Get yourself someone who can help you, who you can message whenever you need help. Get yourself someone who can see your perspective and help you see additional perspectives. That’s the real benefit of having a coach: they can help you see the things you maybe can’t see. They’ll help you get all the way around to achieve your goals. I highly encourage you to bring an awesome coach into your life!

My Second Success Secret: Share Zones of Genius.
How I define a mastermind is a group of people who come together with shared values, who are there to grow themselves, and by sharing with others, achieve a faster path to success. What really impressed me about my mastermind was that everyone had positive anticipation and positive outcome expectation, meaning that they have all invested in themselves. They were all there because they wanted to grow and wanted to contribute to each other’s growth. Every single person in that room had their own zone of genius. And by sharing it with others, they’re helping each other accelerate the path to success.
Whether or not you join a mastermind isn’t what this episode is about. But what rooms can you put yourself in next year? Where you can find other people who have positive anticipation and positive outcome expectation? If you show up consistently in that space, you will see results. Spend your time intentionally, not just haphazardly, so you can grow.

My Third Success Secret: Don’t Do It Alone.
Sometimes entrepreneurship can feel lonely. But it doesn’t have to. Going through a business with entrepreneur friends is everything. The connections you get from being in a mastermind or joining any kind of group like this can be priceless, and they can be lifelong. I love and rely on the people I’ve met through masterminds, and I know that they’ll be lifelong friends. It’s so important to have people who lift you up, encourage you, and want to see you succeed. And being part of a group like this is about giving more than you receive. If you can join a group where everyone’s a giver and so are you, you are going to win every single time.
My Fourth Success Secret: You Get What You Give.
When you’re a part of a mastermind or any similar group, you absolutely get out of it what you put into it. There were people in my mastermind who didn’t show up regularly and didn’t take advantage of the coaching, even though they had invested in it. If you are not showing up and getting the help you need, you’re not doing enough. I know for me that when I showed up and the more I gave, the more I received. Even if I showed up to the call but didn’t have a question, I would receive from other people’s questions. I would learn, and I would grow. I would get advice just from hearing what other people were going through. How cool is that?
My Fifth Success Secret: Leave Your Ego at the Door.
You will learn the most if you can leave your ego behind. When I met with my mastermind for the first time, I made a very conscious decision to leave my ego at home. I decided I would be completely receptive and open to what other people had to say. And I can promise you that the people who grew the most were the people who checked their egos too. I want you to ask yourself, how open are you to receiving information? Are you dismissive, or are you open? If you want to grow and achieve your goals, you have to be open and leave your ego behind.

Here’s your breakthrough game plan! It’s the beginning of the New Year, and you have a clean slate right now. I want you to decide today what you will do with it.
